Hey Mom!!
The wind has been crazy. My long skirts that we bought from Kohl's have been flying up. Its all the weather from New York and everything coming over the Atlantic, but it doesn't feel like it is that bad. The sun shines here and there still.
This week was alright. Honestly it was a bit hard. There were a lot of down days. We went street contacting and tracting every chance we got and the whole week we only found 2 potentials. But we know we worked our hardest. Jose, our less active, has committed to stop smoking. She really wants to go to the temple to do confirmations, so we have a goal and I should still be here when that trip comes up in Feb. We are so excited!! Miracles happen even if they aren't with what you are hoping for.
Monday- We went tracting all night- found one potential.
Tuesday- we did a lot of street contacting and President said he saw us in Sutton stop a person and talk to him. So that was a relief that when he saw us it was a good moment haha. Then we saw Jose and had a good lesson with her. Then we went to the Fells. They used to work in the office, but they had us over for dinner and they are so much fun!! Then we had coordination and that was interesting. I can't say much right now but one day I'll tell you about it.
Wednesday-we taught Jake and that is going alright but there isn't much progress. We did more finding and then we had an appointment with Audrey. She loves us and she was talking about how everyone at the church asks how she is (because she goes to a different one) and I made a somewhat serious joke that she should come one Sunday and surprise everyone!! She didn't say no, but didn't say yes hahaha. But it means we are making progress!!!
Thursday- we had district meeting and we were a bit late and we walked in and Elder Stout was sitting there. We were so confused. Apparently Elder Strupp went home and since Elder Stout was in a trio, he came back to our district. He missed us so much that he wanted it to be a surprise, and was it hahaha. We absolutely love having him back in our district!!! Oh and we did more finding.
Friday-we helped with the follow up trainers meeting and it was so much fun! The assistants really like hanging out with us!! Its like a little Wylde Green family, President and Sister Rasmussen, the assistants and us, the Wylde Green sisters :) We did some weekly planning and Sister Leiss and I both felt that we needed a blessing, each for different reasons. With the assistants busy and no other elders in the area, we texted President to see when he would have time. He said he would come to our flat right then. We cleaned our flat so quick, we looked like headless chickens running around hahaha. But something came up and we had to wait until Saturday to get them. At night we went to a really nice pub with Terry, our recent convert. I had roast lamb... Terry insisted haha. Oh, it was so good but it cost £17.95 so I was glad we weren't paying.
Saturday-we had fun. We got to see Jose and she made us dinner and that was when she said she wanted to go to the temple!! We were ecstatic!! Then we got the blessings and then President drove us home. I love having such a good relationship with him. He was telling us some good ways to street contact and other fun things!! Then we prepared the lesson for RS for Sunday, and then fell asleep.
Sunday- we had church. RS went well. We had dinner with Vaughn Robertson and he got after us for not sending enough pictures home haha. So I'll work on that. Then we went to see George and Audrey. It was fun and we made even more progress with her. She wants to see a video of President Hinckley speaking!! We are excited. These are small steps but they are getting her closer to baptism!!!
I love missionary work!! Its so much fun!
