Wow! Sounds like a great weekend. Fun!! It's exciting to see Gary Oswald there in the pictures too!! So fun to see them all. Aunt Dawn emailed me and told me about the fall Grandpa had. Sounds not good. I'll keep him in my prayers.
As you tell me about all the little things the family did like Rachel and Spencer Foutz making guacamole, it makes me so excited to spend time with the family and for the weekend I report on my mission. Haha that's 6 months away probably or a week more. I do love Aunt Dawn. She is awesome. I have always felt so loved by her and all my aunts. I'm so blessed. Tell Brenda I say hi and thanks.
My week. Oh where to start. I can wear make up again!!! My eyes are all better.
Had an awesome week. Plenty of finding and teaching. Our investigator Andrew is progressing so fast, it's crazy. We are excited about what Heavenly Father is helping us to do. He is on a date for the 1st of November. If he makes it (he is excited about it), it will be exactly a month after we met that he got baptised. So that's cool. A real miracle. Got to do some tracking with Hannah Maughan, she was nervous but loved it, especially as she saw us get a new investigator and really gel with someone we just met. Plus, it made it a member present lesson for us!!! Score!!
We have met with Andrew every day so far and he is the one asking to meet with us, so cool!! And he is so worried that he isn't doing enough. Saturday night we got a text from him saying "I heard someone say something about fasting. Do I need to skip breakfast tomorrow?? :)" What investigator is so willing and anxious to fast? Since it wasn't fast Sunday we said he was okay to eat all his meals. We haven't even taught him about fasting yet. So cool!!
Oh! Wednesday we ran into Andrew that our former Sister Melville and I taught, then had a lesson with Andrew, our current investigator. Then we ran into Andrew, Sue's son (He is in a sense a potential investigator once he is willing to learn). Then we taught Andrew, our recent convert. Wednesday was our Andrew day!
Thursday I don't know if I was being lazy or if I was following the Spirit (I think it was a bit of both), but we decided to take the bus to town. Our investigator, Gwen, got off the bus and said we could pop by later that night. That was cool!!
Friday we had interviews with President and it was cool!! Their son just finished his mission and he was there. He had just gotten his track assignment for BYU-Idaho and had quite a few questions and I was able to help him!! It was cool!! The stuff President was talking about in interviews was having a willing heart and obedience, which were also things I have studied recently, not even knowing. So it's true.
Had a few really cool studies this week. Yesterday I started with "I Stand All Amazed" by Elder Rasband and when it talked about his ancestors it made me think about John Rowe Moyle. So I searched it and found myself reading the talk "Lift Where you Stand" by Pres Uchtdorf. It really helped me understand callings and it humbled me - helped me want to gain more charity. I have probably been avoiding developing charity and love, for a bit. I think it's because my heart has been guarded, but I know it's important.
We had exchanges. I got to stay in Gloucester and Sister Wiesner came. We were in the mtc together, so it was a blast. We are a lot alike. It was great :) Game night Friday night was really intense and like a blood war between some members. We need to talk to the elders. It isn't a place for investigators to come, but one that's really solid came and she had fun. It was entertaining.
Saturday we did whiteboard finding and then went to the fan zone to watch a flash mob. Then Sister Wiesner and I ate Subway at the cathedral. A crazy guy sat down next to us. At first he was harmless but then he touched my thigh and I was like "We are going!!" And we ran off. Honestly, the local Gloucester crazies!!
Yesterday I finished a fast. We were asked to fast as a zone to have baptisms. My companion makes a lot of rice. We have eaten so much rice recently and as I was eating I could tell my body was having a hard time working through it. I took a nap after eating it and by the time I woke up in 5 minutes I had no energy and I was so confused, I think I'm having reactions to rice again. I called Sister Leppard and she said to sleep it off. So I slept and rested for about 14 hours in total. My stomach was still weak this morning but I'm doing better.
We had an awesome week with awesome numbers!! So excited for this week. I think I forgot to mention that Elder Ballard is coming Nov 14th and we are excited!
Love you all
