Thanks for the email.
This week was good. It wasn't a super exciting week, just the normal work. finding finding and finding some more!
Monday- We had a dinner appointment, so we weren't able to do much work.
Tuesday- We had lunch at the Fishers and that was nice. Sister Fisher, having served a mission, understands some of the things we go through as missionaries a lot more than other members. Most of them are converts and they have a different view of us. It was a crazy day! The wind was blowing like crazy. I would pick up my feet to walk and it would fly and hit my other leg. It was funny. We looked a bit insane as we walked through all the crazy weather that day. It hailed and was sunny at the same time and then it started raining all at the same time! We tried by a less active and she wasn't home. It was sad. We walked forever to try by her and it was for nothing. Oh, and to add to the craziness, a car drove on the wrong side of the road by where we were walking and, yeah, everything was a mess.
Wednesday- We visited a part-member family whose non-member husband had a stroke. They have had a hard year and they really appreciated us coming. Then we spent the day in Castle Vale. No luck, but, oh well. We will get the people next time. Then we took our semi-weekly trip to see Jose. She was excited to see conference.
Thursday- We had district meeting and worked on the lesson for Jake. We played Memory with the Latter Day Prophets and some quotes about them. It was fun getting to know some of our previous prophets some more! we visited a less-active that I haven't seen in a while and we have an appointment to see her this week. So that is some good news.
Friday- I wasn't feeling well but we went out and did some finding in the rain and we found a few people. It was a blessing but I think that really hurt my health in the end.
Saturday- I ended up sleeping most of the day except when we went to conference. This is the 4th cold I have had on my mission! I swear I get one each transfer haha. But Conference was amazing! I loved it! There was just a special spirit. I don't know if its because I am a missionary or if its because of the things I have learned since becoming a missionary or if the Spirit was just stronger this conference, but it was amazing! I think a very general lesson that I learned was that having an eternal perspective is essential in all things!
I hope you all enjoyed conference as much as I did. Thanks for the picture!
Love ya,
Sister Ashley MacKay
PS Thanks for the sour patch!
