Things have been a lot better with Jose this week!! We are so grateful that it turned out alright. Sounds like everything is normal and that the family hasn't changed much - haha I hope Craig gets better. (Craig got a concussion while snowboarding) That is scary. Glad it all worked out alright.
This week:
Monday- we went shopping for new boots!! They are cute. Not as cute as my last pair but not bad. Then we had a dinner appointment with a recent convert, Sue Green. She is the sweetest thing ever. She has a son that is in his thirties and there is no doubt once you meet him that he is gay. He has auditioned for Britain's Got Talent and his skit is drag (crossdressing and singing). He showed us a video his mom recorded. It was quite interesting to watch haha. But they are so sweet and Sue is just this ray of light!! Then we had to go back to the mission office to pick up Sister Brown. She was going home the next day and was staying with us since president has some family in town. We stayed up pretty late helping her with her luggage. It is really rough as you have to help with all the departing missionaries as you are only on your second transfer and have 11 to go haha. But its alright. I am still happy that I have 11 to go and to enjoy even more!
Tuesday - President and the assistants came at 6:30 to pick up sister Brown and then we got ready for the day. We were pooped! We went to Jose's and she made us dinner. It was really yummy! She made curry and japatties. She just lit up when she opened the door!! You can see that Heavenly Father is watching out for her right now. We also met with Jake and we were prepared to help him understand that he is not ready to be baptized because he is not keeping his commitments. But that wasn't what the Lord wanted for that day because Jake kinda kept the commitment to read. He read a random chapter because he couldn't find the chapter we had assigned him.
Wednesday- we went street contacting in the morning. No luck but it is getting us better at finding. Then we went to the office after lunch to put my social in the missionary portal and there was post for me!! it was from Shannon and Kevin and the sweetest little face was staring up at me and it really made my day. I really love getting post! That was the first letter I have gotten and I was so happy to see it! So thank you, Shannon!! We had to be in at 6 and I made a roast dinner.
Thursday- we did weekly planning in the morning and then we traveled to a DA with the stake president and it was so quiet, it was really nice to walk the streets :) OH and the food was so yummy!!! :)
Friday- we had district meeting and lunch and did A LOT of finding. We were exhausted by the end of the night. Just ready to be home. It was a hard day but we had a DA with the relief society president and were able to talk about Jose with her.
Saturday- we went finding some more. We found a golden investigator and her fiance. We are going by there soon and are so excited to see if it works out. Her name is Nikki and she just glows! We were able to see Noelia and invite her to church and then we had dinner with Jose again. She just loves us and keeps feeding us all the time. It was jamaican curry this time and I almost popped after eating it all.
Sunday- was good we were able to go by George and Audrey for the first time in a few weeks. She really missed us and we know we are making a little progress with her. We were supposed to go by the potential Nikki, but I had a huge headache and a fever that came on and off every 5 minutes. So we went home and I slept for a few hours before we had call ins with our district leader. It was a good day though.
Its so much fun this week, I feel like a real missionary as we walk the streets in the cold, no one around but some how we are laughing and enjoying ourselves.
Love you all
