I love hearing about the family!! It sounds like everyone is doing so well!! So happy that everyone is happy!!
This week was good. We had training from President at zone meeting. It was on church attendance. Coming to church feels so small sometimes, but it is so important. The blessings that are there for people are so important. It was cool. We were invited to teach people just about coming to church in one lesson. There are so many concerns that come with going to church. Sometimes it can seem like such a burden but there is something for everyone. The strength and support that come from church both physically, from the people, and spiritually, from the spirit, are so vital to getting through life happy.
We had a less active come to church. Her name is Laura. She just recently had a change of heart. She shared with us some of her decisions in the last year and she knows it's going to be rough coming back but she wants to do it. So we are excited to help her. But I definitely respect her!!
Also, had some really good studies this week!! One on hope yesterday. Hope is what gets us through the rough times. I took the time to think about what I hope for and if it's righteous. It was good to take the time to identify what I hope for and specifically why I hope for those things and if they are in line with Heavenly Father's will. Loved it! This morning I studied repentance, a talk called "Cleansing the Inner Vessel," by Boyd K Packer. He is an amazing teacher. It is about overcoming pornography. I didn't realize that when I started it but it was so good. I love being informed about this topic, though, especially with all the safeguards for technology that we are using with our iPads. It's so cool. But he talks about how priesthood power can help men overcome their problems with pornography. I didn't know that. It also talks about agency, which I loved. But the second half of the talk really helped me understand repentance better. It can be applied to all repentance. "Every soul confined in a prison of sin, guilt, or perversion has a key to the gate. The key is labeled 'repentance'. If you know how to use this key, the adversary cannot hold you. The twin principles of repentance and forgiveness exceed in strength the awesome power of the tempter." It's such a gift to each of us. I loved how he shared a story of a women and how she couldn't forgive herself and Joseph Fielding Smith shared the story of Lot's wife with her. It's so cool! We really just can't look back. It's so true. I love the quote from PMG "Repentance is to change our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that are not in harmony with His will." I love the promise at the end of the section, "We will come to feel great joy in repenting daily." It's so true. Doing better and changing to become a better person is so rewarding. I know it's all possible because of the atonement.
This week. We worked hard and found joy in even the small things. It's just missionary work. To keep working even when we don't find the most success.
Had some fun this week. Went to Bisley. (We have a ton of ancestors from Bisley) Did face masks last night. Enjoyed some sun yesterday!!
The church is true and the Savior loves each of us so much!!
Love you all!!
