That sounds like a fun week!! I was thinking about Jackie on Saturday, and I hope it went well for her. I love the temple so much and miss it, so everyone that can go, you should go. That is one thing I have learned on my mission is not to take the temple for granted. The closest one for the members here is 2 hrs away and a lot of them don't drive so its really hard for them to make it there. Also, I want to get involved with family history when I get home. They have one of the best family history centers in the country/world whatever it is, its really good and I wish I could do some work with them. Oh I just remembered. all the Europe mission presidents are getting training on Ipads April 22 so some time after that we will get them. We have to pay for them, but we get to keep them after the mission.
President and Sister Rasmussen came to church in our ward. They have done it a lot more in our ward than any other ward (since they live across the street) but whenever they go to other wards they send pictures home to parents and bring treats. They thought they should probably start doing that in Wylde Green haha, so it was fun. Sister Rasmussen and I were giggling in RS haha its always fun to be with her :) Its always so much fun with family, I do miss that!!
This week was good.
Monday- we got fish-n-chips. I love it. Its so good!!! (especially with fry sauce haha) I was craving it all week and its really cheap too haha so its dangerous. But we didn't get it again last week, but we are going again today for lunch haha.
Tuesday- It was just the normal day as a missionary. We were at Jose's and it was fun. Sister Leiss sent me a bunch of pictures from our transfers together so I can send one of Jose and I this week!! But I started to get a migraine Tuesday night so we went in early and I got to sleep an hr more. It was such a blessing.
Wednesday- we had a bit of an off day, but we kept going and on our way to our dinner appointment we were tracting Walmley Road and GQed this young man (in his 20s). His name is Harry (Harry potter, jkjk haha) but he doesn't have any beliefs. For some reason it was really easy to talk to him and he was asking questions about what we had mentioned and he was really interested. We got a return appointment for Friday which was so cool. We were a bit late to dinner, but they didnt mind haha. That night we were on the phone with Jake and he said that we had stopped his friend today... yes it was Harry. Jake was excited.
Thrusday- We had district meeting and it was good, On our way there we GQed this theology student and she was so excited about what we shared with her. She gave us her number and said to call and to come by for tea some time soon.Wwe are still trying to get a hold of her. We didn't get many potentials this week, but the ones we got were solid ones!! It made us excited!!
Friday- Weekly planning..... not my favorite, but we got to go to dinner with Terry. The curry they gave me wasn't very good, but, oh well... Sadly, Harry cancelled on us, but said that he still wants to meet with us. We also met with Jake and he is solid for his baptism on the 21st!!
Saturday- was the last day for the AUF project and we still had 4 more to contact so that is all we did that day, and no one opened up.
Sunday- It is so much fun being able to go to church and learn and partake of the sacrament. Favorite part of the week!! We were at the Mace's for lunch and they are like grandparents. It was a blast!!!
I love the chance I have had to come on a mission. I realized that I wouldn't be the same if I hadn't come. Its the small things that have changed, like looking forward to study time, and having more meaningful prayers. These are what I love the most and know that I wouldn't quite be the same if I hadn't come.
Love ya all,
Sister Ashley MacKay
