Hey there everyone,
This past week sounds so busy but fun. Thank you for all the pictures from everything. it looks like fun!! It is a bit chilly here but I dont mind. Sister Leiss and I start to sweat as we walk with our coats on and some times take them off. The weather is wet but im already use to it.
SO monday We went back and I just slept. Monday night, we went to visit Sue (a recent convert) she is going to the temple for the first time on saturday to do baptisms. I had my camera with me and remembered I had pictures of the preston temple with me, It made her so excited to go. Who knew just taking a few pictures could be such a great help haha.
Tuesday, Oh tuesday was fun. We had a lesson with Terry (another RC) and then we had to go use the computers at the mission office to do our progress record and its always fun to see the Grays (the old couple that work in the office) later we tracted some more and for dinner we had an appointment and the sister was from Zimbabwa and we had traditional african food. it was scary but she insisted that we eat more and that we eat it with our hands haha.
Wed- We had Zone meeting and it was good. I had to do our purpose, They have the newest missionary say it to see if they mess up, and so I was alittle nervous, but my district was so sweet, I just watched them the entire time I said it, but I guarantee that my face was red haha.
Thursday- at the end of comp study we got a call from a former investigator that we had planned to stop by and she really wanted us to come before we had even told her that we had thought of coming. she is from spain and it was fun to hear spanish. My three years of spanish are nice, I could catch words that she was saying and could somewhat follow what she was saying to her son. That night we went to Josie's for dinner, she is a less active, but so sweet. she has a problem with smoking ever since her son committed suicide and she found him. but she really wants to quit it and is doing well so far. She married an Indian man once and so she makes the best curry and naan bread. I was in heaven!! She is having us over tomorrow, so i am excited. She says she is making jamacian curry this time haha.
Friday- we had two lessons in the morning, we asked brett the first (RC) to stay and help with our lesson with jake. We taught jake on thursday the word of wisdom, but he said he would do it and said he had done it for one day :) but it was good. Brett and jake are friends from what we can tell. Brett introduced jake to the employment center and they were still in there after we left the mission office, we havent found out how that went yet, but are excited to hear!! We were late too our dinner appointment that night. we decided to walk and just after we crossed the street the bus came. We weren't too happy about that. we sped walked as we were already late and My skirts are fitting a lot looser now haha. but that amount of walking and not stopping as we went so fast made me not get any better with getting sick.
Saturday we visited some people but I was in bed on sister rasmussen's orders by 7:30 and slept for 11 hours. I feel sick of sleeping, but I still get so tired haha.
Church was good. Bishop invited all 3 companionships over for Thanksgiving. We have to make a dessert. Mom can you send me your pie crust recipe and how to make apple pie? That would be so helpful!! We had dinner at the ward mission leader's house and his family is fun. They like to make fun of the way americans say squirrel and mirror, but they are vegetarians so we ate this fake meat flavored stuff made out of corn. Its not my favorite. After we visited George and Audrey. They are a really old couple that have some really fun stories. He is a member, but she isnt. but they love having missionaries over once a week. Its been that way for them for the past 10 years. so we dont mind and we always share a spiritual thought and she loves it, but won't join. but one day she will, we know it.
Oh and to answer your question. GQing is Golden Question, which means street contacting. It confused me at first too haha
I love the work and enjoy being here. Ill try to send pictures.
Love you all
