So the past week and a half have been oh so much fun, with meeting after meeting, transfers and training. It's been a blast of non-stop commotion. Sadly, not too much work has happened, but we do our best and work with the time we have been given. Everyday is a blessing and our adventure is working with what's placed in front of us.
In spite of everything that has happened, I feel peaceful. It's good - it is like a soft melody that plays in the background of our crazy life and keeps us sane through it all :)
So since I last emailed. I learned a few things, Sister Spangler hates packing and it takes her 48 hours or more to pack her two suitcases. I got the opportunity to practice patience and laughing at situations. I think if I could sum up last transfer it would be laughter. I really wanted to have a good relationship with my companion and be able to have the Spirit with me and laughter helped in all situations. It's something I need to work on more, but I am grateful for the start I had with Sister Spangler. She is a sweetheart!!
My companion is Sister Dignos. There is a video of all new missionaries and their trainers on the mission blog where you can see the two of us (http://ebmcalltoserve.weebly.com/new-arrivals). She is from the Philippines!! She is so cute and quiet and sweet.
Nothing has really changed since Friday. So I will send another big email on Monday. I hope that's all right. Looks like everyone is having fun!! I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and talk with him to see what options we have now to help improve everything. We bought a lot of greens so that should help!!
Yesterday we had dinner with the American family and they had American steaks, from the base. Oh, man! Beef here is not the same! I was in heaven :) A member took us shopping and ended up paying for all our food today. It was very sweet.
Just a bunch of thoughts here and there. I feel a bit better, but still getting fevers quite regularly. Going home to rest soon.
Love,
Sister Ashley MacKay
