Hey family!!
It was so much fun to hear about all of your adventures at the family reunion. I have to say we have the best family ever. So, strikes, I forget how big we are and how spending a few days together really can be a glimpse of heaven :) I'm so excited for the Team Navy shirt to come. I pray for her all the time. She is a trooper!!
So this week was fun. We got a new elder in our ward with Elder Severe going home for his eye and his name is Elder Olivos and he is from London and was born in Peru. He is way awesome. Love working with the elders now :)
So we kept working with members this week and had a lot of service and we were fed a lot. I made sure I exercised every morning and during my comp's language study to work it off. I do have to say it feels good to be able to exercise.
We had a few surprise visits/experiences with members. Monday we visited the Brazilian family for the day and hung out with them and ate for our pday. I just love them. I'll send a picture of their baby that I just love!!
Tuesday a member took us out to see a less active that she wants us to work with. We were a bit worried because this less active has been a bit anti towards the church and the member was worried that we would get the door in our faces. But it went well.
Wednesday we did some service and I messed up my hip. It was so painful to walk on. We stopped by a few people and had two lunches with members and one was a happy meal where we got a minion that yells "ENGLAND" haha I love it! And then we had dinner with the Relief Society President and heard about what the ward wants from the missionaries and it's exactly what we have been doing so it was good :) They are happy with the missionaries right now.
Thursday we had district meeting and did some stop bys. It was my 9 month mark. We met up with the elders and had some ice cream. It was a blast! Iced my hip a lot and it helped.
Friday it was pouring down and we did service in a members home. Do you remember the family that I skyped at on Mother's Day, how crazy they were? Yeah. Sister Maughan asked that we not give details, I'll tell you about the crazy experiences when I get home. I feel like I could become an actor after that day haha. Crazy day but a blast! Didn't prepare for the day the best but we worked with what we had and made a difference for Sister Maughan.
Saturday we did a work over with the stls (sister leaders). It was a blast - found a way cool girl named Charlie! She is from Georgia!! I forgot how much I love the American accent!! She was so cool. That reminds me. I need to email her today and get in contact with her before she leaves.
Sunday we needed to do the weekly planning that we kept putting off. It was good. Ran into the elders at city centre and now we are hanging out with them today. It's been fun. There weren't any over the top experiences, just the normal missionary work, but it's okay. I love it!!
Started studying chapter 10 and chapter 8 of Preach My Gospel. I want to hit myself for not studying them before. I glanced at them but didn't study them and I love them. I did have a cool study on obedience. I remembered the saying mom had on her scripture case "Return With Honor" and it hit me. Our goal in life is to return to our Heavenly Father with honour, the goal of our mission is to return to our earthly parents with honor and each day our goal is to return to our flat with honor. Just something to think about. It's made me want to be a better missionary. To improve in the small things that are my weaknesses. It's cool :)
Love you all!! So excited to see what I can do with this half of my mission. I've heard once you get over the hump it just flies, so we will see!
Love you all!!
