Fact! Did you know that the Magna Carta was signed here in Lincoln at the castle... Its only a 5-10 minute walk from my flat. Sometimes it kills me how much history there can be so close to you and some people just take it for granted. I love it!!! I don't have many pictures, but I will get them soon. It even has a draw bridge!!!!
Monday- After Pday ended we did some area book navigating and I fixed my bike. I tried to fix Sister Spangler's but... that wasn't happening. This week I will get to figure out how to use a puncture repair kit!! Oh, the skills you gain on your mission haha.
Tuesday- We had an awesome day planned, but people flogged us. We found some new people to replace them, so it worked out okay. Just to warn you, a lot of this work that I am doing now is just boring finding, working to build the area up. We had coordination and we have an awesome ward mission leader!! We found a guy named Harvey. He is so cool. He is a drama student and compared to some other people we find, he seems the most promising. Keep him in your prayers if you would.
Wednesday- I woke up and was not feeling well. We went to find in an area but on our way we called Sister Leppard and she said I needed some vitamins and we were by a store, so we went in. Also, our washing machine broke! The elders were really kind to meet up with us and they took our laundry and did it all for us. They are saints!! We met up with an investigator of the previous sisters' and he is quite interesting. Not really interested in the gospel, just curious. Not sure how much more we are going to work with him. We will meet a few more times, then we will see. We had a nice dinner with the Hann Family. Her parents are good friends with a family in my last area so it was really nice to hear about that! Then we went to the Relief Society activity and I got to crochet a snow flake - well almost. We were running low on time, but it was fun!!!
Thursday- We had district meeting with President, so we had to travel into Nottingham. It was really good. An emergency transfer happened a week ago and half our zone got moved so it was cool to see the new faces. Sad to see some familiar ones go. We all learned the lesson that you don't waste time on the mission - President is not a fan. We made it in time for a dinner appointment with the ward mission leader and his family. They are crazy but awesome. Then we started exchanges. Sister Banchini and I caught up and talked about Lincoln to help my understanding of it (Sister Banchini is from Rome and Lincoln was her first area. We were in the MTC together), but I could tell my health was going downhill from there. We got to bed and....
Friday- woke up and got ready. Halfway through studies, Sister Banchini asked how I was doing and I said fine, but she looked at me and said, you need to go lie down. I did and slept for a long time. I had a fever all day. She stood close to me at one point and said I was like a heater, because so much heat was radiating from me. We had a few lessons that I wanted to go to, but when she felt my head she cancelled them all. I got a blessing and a member that just returned from her mission and her mom surprised us with a week's worth of groceries. We didn't have to buy any food today. Sister Banchini was still able to do so much missionary work - she had 2 lessons, 1 less active lesson and got a new investigator, all over the phone. And she helped us understand a bit more about the area, all in that day she spent here.
Saturday- I tried to work and ended up back in bed, sleeping all day.
Sunday- we helped the elders with a baptism. The font was only filling with cold water, so the ward pitched in and everyone was dumping buckets of hot water in the font. It was a lukewarm baptism, but it happened!!
Today we have done some shopping. Got a fleece, and got some new boots with that money mom. They are nice. I am wearing them now. I have some pictures - at the end of exchanges we were all talking. I had just woken up and so we all laid on our beds. I took some pictures to remember the fun time. I look terrible in all the pictures. I slept all day and was covered in sweat from my fever, so no judging!
But the church is true and miracles still happen. President talked about faith and finding this week. He talked how Heavenly Father knows all things and it helped to know that Heavenly Father knew I would be getting sick and would still allow us to find those that are prepared.
I'm excited for this week. Tomorrow I have a meeting about after the mission.. I will be a bit trunky this upcoming week. Wednesday I have a doctors appointment, Sister Leppard is a bit sick of me being sick so I am going to a doctor to see why I get sick every 3-6 weeks on my mission. If you would keep me in your prayers, and pray that the doctors will get to the bottom of everything quickly and that I can keep working that would be awesome. I got a blessing the other day and it said I will finish my mission, so no need to worry mom. The church takes good care of its missionaries. I am going to a private doctor in Nottingham, and private doctors are quick and good!!
Thanks for everything.
